Kate McLean Artist Gallery

Designs that are innovative and abstract have always been attractive to me.
My art is a visual representation of breaking boundaries and standing boldly. My work features a lot of black and sharp, unexpected lines that flow. Strong and impactful imagery meant to inspire finding beauty in darkness.
Since a young age, I have been strongly drawn to architecture and contemporary, minimalistic visuals in interior design. My mother was an interior decorator, and my father was a business owner as a broadcast engineer. Welding functional art is the perfect mix of the art and science I inherited from my parents.
I spent several years gaining technical welding experience in the field and quickly became aware that I could make my imagined designs materialize through my skills.
I’ve melded my love of art, desire to create, passion for visual beauty, architecture, functional art and my newly built skill of welding into a career that feels like a dream. I am a female entrepreneur living in Eau Claire, Wisconsin – my company is Fillmore Spaces, LLC metalworking and design. My studio is currently in the historic shops at Banbury Place.
I wake every day and say “thank you” for my life and where I am. The path that lead me to where I am is beautiful, however tumultuous, but I have never let that hold me back. I spend my days laughing with my incredible children and making my imagined designs materialize.
